Grand Canyon West is on Hualapai Tribe land and is the closest part of the Grand Canyon to Las Vegas. Its Skywalk is a horseshoe-shaped glass bridge extending out over the canyon rim.

Highlights

  • Glass-bottom Skywalk
  • Eagle Point and Guano Point viewpoints
  • Helicopter and boat options
  • Easy day trip from Vegas

About this area

Las Vegas is a gateway to some of America's great national parks. Several are possible as long day trips; others are best as an overnight extension to your race trip.

Fitting it into race week

Track sessions run in the evening, so daytime is free for sightseeing. This is a day trip — leave early and plan to be back in town by late afternoon if you have tickets for the evening sessions.

Tips

  • Personal cameras aren't allowed on the Skywalk; photos are sold on site.
  • Not part of Grand Canyon National Park — buy tickets separately.
